Environmental Strategy Consultants (ESC) has an exceptional career opportunity for an experienced environmental professional to serve in a senior position and help grow the company’s practice areas in Petro-chem, Middle Market Manufacturing, and Healthcare.  ESC is seeking a demonstrated leader with a high level of technical acumen, previous business management and consulting experience complimented by a strong commitment to providing exceptional service.  

The Senior Environmental Manager/Consultant will work closely with the Principal to help drive the financial success of the company and meet topline revenue goals. This role requires active leadership in the development of new clients and account management to leverage existing client relationships to increase opportunities that generate new business. The Senior Environmental Manager/Consultant will also help expand the company’s reputation as a leader in multi-media environmental compliance services through contribution to key client projects.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Direct the Team in business development to support and meet the company’s financial goals and objectives
  • Help build the client base in strategic industry sectors
  • Manage key clients
  • Direct project staff in client project work towards successful outcomes, highly valued deliverables, and healthy gross margins

 

Technical Experience Required:

  • Strong Air Permitting expertise
  • Expertise in other multi-media compliance—air, water and waste
  • Environmental Program Management and Planning
  • Expertise in implementing compliance to CAA, CWA, CERCLA, NPDES, RCRA, TSCA
  • Demonstrated and working knowledge of state and local regulations for Mid-Atlantic areas pertaining to air quality, water quality, waste management, stormwater and hazardous waste / hazardous materials management
  • Agency Enforcement Response and Negotiation
  • High-level Agency interaction and client advocacy
  • Technical Report Writing

 

Consulting Experience Required:

  • Demonstrated experience developing new business
  • Account Management / managing client expectations
  • Leading proposal initiatives and communicating the scope of deliverables
  • Ability to help market company through “Thought Leadership”
  • Solid understanding of financial reporting, business principles and planning
  • Ability to develop technical team
  • Strong attention to detail and excellent communication skills
  • Ability to balance immediate and strategic initiatives

 

Candidate with the following experience and background will be considered:

  • 15-20 years in the environmental profession
  • 7-10 years in leadership positions—managing staff
  • 5+ years in Environmental Project Management
  • Some consulting experience including account management and business development
  • Prior experience having some level of financial responsibility—specifically profitability
  • Experience generating technical content for presentations, marketing and peer review
  • A minimum of a BS in Engineering, Environmental, or an Applied Science
  • MS highly desired
  • PE a plus
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
