Sr. Corporate Environmental Specialist

Honeywell currently has an excellent career opportunity available for a Sr. Corporate Environmental Specialist.  In this position, you will provide global support for driving HSE excellence, focused on implementation of effective operating mechanisms that assure regulatory compliance, management of HSE risk and achievement of performance excellence, in addition to supporting a mature HSE culture via the Honeywell Operating System (HOS).  This position reports to the Sr. Director, Corporate HSE and the  location would be Charlotte, NC.

You will use your skills and knowledget to:

  • Develop and support the implementation of HSE programs and practices consistent with global regulatory requirements and the corporations HSE Management System
  • Assist in establishing vision, goals, objectives and targets for HSE performance, as well as develop quality metrics to drive performance improvement.
  • Provide expert, hands-on technical involvement on issues, programs, and processes involving compliance with HSE standards and policies and interpretation of local, regional and global HSE requirements, permits and regulations
  • Review, interpret and communicate new Honeywell Corporate HSE procedures, legal and other requirements
  • Develop and improve corporate-wide HSE standards/programs, ensuring the standards meet regulatory compliance and corporate guidelines
  • Provide expert technical support for the HSE environmental function (air emissions, wastewater, storm water, drinking water, container management, spill prevention and control, waste management etc.)
  • Participate in various corporate audit processes
  • Provide support to the Voluntary Protection Program (VPP) and International Protection Program (IPP) certification processes 

 

The successful candidate must have:

  • Bachelor's Degree in safety or environmental science, engineering, chemistry or related science discipline
  • Minimum 5 years’ progressive experience in a health, safety, or environmental (HSE) role
