Senior Program Manager of EHS & Biosafety [CM-10932]

An established life sciences company is seeking a Senior Health & Safety Program Manager to lead its campus-wide Biosafety programs, working closely on a small team of EHS professionals based from San Francisco, CA. The incumbent will work closely with senior leadership in order to establish and maintain a proactive safety culture. She or he will be tasked with overseeing organizational compliance with local, state and federal EH&S regulations and will be tasked with fostering a proactive safety approach, requiring the ability to analyze job hazards in a variety of industrial settings to implement best practices. 

The Role:

  • Developing and implementing a long-term plan for the EHS function with minimal supervision
  • Providing practical and technical expertise, advice, and solutions
  • Promoting continuous improvement in the EHS function, integrating tactical & strategic EHS planning
  • Developing EHS programs towards a growing business
  • Influences management to drive EHS performance


The Candidate:

  • 8+ years direct experience
  • Bachelor’s Degree in EHS or Life Sciences required
  • Master's Degree in EHS or Life Sciences preferred
  • Leadership experience in EHS within a manufacturing environment including R&D and laboratories
  • Proven track record leading Medical Waste, BBP, and all other etiological agents within an occupational safety program
  • Strong communication skills, ability to lead and coordinate with employees at all levels
  • Demonstrated ability to build safety, industrial hygiene and ergonomics programs
  • Experience with Cal OSHA, DOT and NFPA
  • CSP preferred
