The Safety Training and Maintenance Supervisor is responsible for the safety and training of all employees.  Safety trainers audit the workplace for hazards, develop solutions to eliminate those hazards, communicate those solutions to other employees and evaluate progress as the solution is eliminated; incumbents ensure adherence to the Company’s health and safety rules and rules set forth by government entities such as the Occupational Health and Safety Administration (OSHA).  This position also oversees repairs on company vehicles and equipment, including generators. This position is located in Gig Harbor, Washington.


  • Ensures that safety training programs are in compliance with Company standards, as well as with governmental laws and regulations.
  • Plans, develops, and implements employee safety training programs
  • Works with supervisors and managers to identify safety issues and topics to be addressed
  • Assesses training needs for a particular work site
  • Reviews employees’ certifications and recommends classes needed to keep certifications current or upgrade to more advance certifications
  • Assists employees with training needs, finding classes needed for required and advanced certifications, etc, and conducting classes in house
  • Reviews current and ever-changing rules and regulations, and conducts regular safety meetings
  • Keeps up-to-date with the latest issues and methods regarding safety, accident prevention, hazards and other topics
  • Ensures that employees use proper safety equipment and follow current safety rules
  • Provides regular maintenance for vehicles and equipment
  • Oversees and makes repairs on Company vehicles and equipment, including generators.
  • Responds to and troubleshoots problems involving vehicles and equipment, and schedules or makes necessary repairs
  • Orders parts for vehicles and equipment and schedules maintenance for them
  • Trains operators and service people on equipment repairs and generator problems
  • Assists Accounting Department by reviewing and signing off on vendor invoices
  • Participates in the Company’s Continuous Improvement Process
  • Other duties as assigned


  • Bachelor’s degree in Occupational Health, Industrial Engineering or related field and/or equivalent relevant experience
  • Three years of increasingly responsible experience working as a coordinator, analyst, or administrator in health, safety, or related field 
  • Proficient in the use of Microsoft Office applications
  • Valid State of Washington Driver’s License
