Safety Services Manager

Position Purpose:
Responsible for overseeing all company activities related to general safety services. This role will be the primary contact for all ERI Solutions, and its subsidiaries safety services clients, which will comprise of over 100 locations nationwide.  This position will work closely with the company leadership, staff, and customers. The Safety Services Manager will utilize their communication skills and professional expertise to help continuously improve ERI Solutions service offerings and maintain customer compliance with all necessary regulations.

Essential Functions and Basic Duties

  • Responsible for developing annual Safety division growth targets and implementing the plan to achieve the results.  Including development of annual budget and business plan.
  • Develop hiring plan to meet sales goals objectives.  Work with team members to develop annual goals. Provide timely coaching and mentoring to help team members reach goals. Provide employee corrective action when needed and perform annual performance reviews for all team members.
  • Lead quote and estimating development and work with account managers to develop final presentation and submittal to customer.
  • Responsible for coordinating and scheduling team project meetings and updating project status reports specific to ERI Solutions’ environmental services.
  • Safety – Review Job Safety Assessments and ensure that staff have proper safety equipment and supplies on hand.  Maintain up to date knowledge of applicable safety policies and procedures.  Direct and monitor safety standards in the work environment and ensure safety of staff.  Ensure that staff respond to random drug screens following required protocols.  Monitor annual drug and alcohol testing dates; ensure that employees are current for client access.  Assist Safety Manager to ensure that all employees receive and maintain required training.
  • Promote company culture and identify obstacles to success regarding customer opportunities.
  • Manage EH&S consultants’ workload and project schedule, including coordinate opportunities and workload with other division managers to share resources as needed.

Provide technical expertise on and individually provide services such as, but not limited to:

  • Site specific regulatory compliance and best management practice general safety assessment performance, reporting, planning, and coordinating
  • Occupational Safety and Health Administration Outreach 10 and 30 hour training for general industry and construction
  • Hazardous energy control specific training, assessment, profile development
  • Confined space specific training, assessment, profile development
  • Job specific hazard analysis (JSA/JHA) consulting, training, development
  • Root cause analysis training, consulting, performance
  • Department of Transportation (DOT) consulting, training, and assessment
  • Food and Drug Administration (FDA) consulting, training and assessment
  • Site specific and safety topic specific, on-site or webinar training development and delivery
  • ERI Safety program and training presentation development, improvement, implementation
  • ERI Safety program consulting
  • Coordinate the development, maintenance, and continuous improvement of ERI Solutions’ standard operating procedures (SOPs) for all safety services.
  • Work closely with subject matter experts to develop and present publications of existing and new safety related products and services.

Assist with ERI Solutions’ Process Safety Management (PSM) specific services as needed such as, but not limited to:

  • Process Safety Management Compliance audit performance and reporting
  • Process Hazard Analysis lead, scribe, and/or reporting
  • Layers of Protection Analysis lead, scribe, and/or reporting
  • Risk Management Plan compliance audit performance and reporting
  • Process Safety Management training development and presentation
  • Maintain consistent communication with ERI Solutions’ Sr. Vice President - Compliance & Regulatory Services concerning project status or issues, staffing needs or issues, and other internal or external concerns where assistance is necessary.
  • Remotely manage team members in multiple locations, in multiple time zones, throughout the U.S.

Qualifications - Education/Certification:           

  •  Bachelor degree required, engineering, science, technical preferred                      

Required Knowledge & Experience:                          

  • 10+ years professional level safety experience required
  • Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite required
  • Strong understanding of OSHA, DOT, FDA and state specific environmental regulations
  • Knowledge of general chemical/petrochemical processing and industrial manufacturing processes is preferred
  • CSP or CIH preferred

Physical Activities and Requirements of this Position:

  • Occasional site visits required, up to 75% travel required or as needed.  Ability to sit for long periods of time.  Able to view computer screen for lengths at a time. 
  • Must be able to speak and listen clearly. 
  • Fine visual acuity to read for accuracy. May be exposed to loud noises, wet and humid conditions, fumes or airborne particles, toxic chemicals, extreme hot and cold depending on weather conditions. 
  • Requires climbing and working at heights, balancing, stooping, kneeling, crouching, reaching, handling, standing for long periods, walking, pushing, pulling, repetitive motion, working in confined spaces, working near hazards including moving mechanical parts, and working near electrical components.
