  • The Safety Manager provides leadership and manages the Mill Safety Program and the Fire Protection System.
  • The Safety Manager is responsible for understanding the Mill operations, developing relationships with all groups of employees, auditing behaviors, and driving the safety culture toward improvements in safety performance. 
  • The selected candidate must be able to identify opportunities and drive sustainable change. 
  • The Safety Manager will have responsibility for ensuring Ticonderoga is current with all corporate safety initiatives, policies, as well as, governmental compliance. 
  • The Safety Manager will work closely with the Regional Safety Management team, corporate counterparts and peer group across the Mill system to accomplish goals. 
  • The Safety Manager is expected to actively participate in activities outside the Mill, to include but not limited to OSHA events and networking with other manufacturing facilities.
  • The Safety Manager is responsible for providing expertise / guidance to the Mill Lead Team in our quest to achieve an accident-free workplace, while positively impacting profitability and operational excellence.
  • The selected candidate will be a point of contact and respond to all safety related situations 24/7/365 days per year. 
  • The Safety Manager will be responsible for management of the Mill Safety Facilitators and the Safety Engineer.


  • Qualified candidates must possess a clear ability to lead others to accomplish a common goal. 
  • To be considered, the candidate must have the ability to manage and coordinate multiple and complex assignments. 
  • He / she must understand team dynamics; and have the ability to lead a diverse workforce. 
  • The candidate must be able to lead meetings, conduct training, have strong listening skills; as well as, have the ability to effectively manage change and handle conflict in the workplace. 
  • Qualified candidates must have good interpersonal skills and the ability to influence others.
  • A strong propensity to lead and manage the mill safety observation system in the pursuit of an accident free work environment is a requirement.
  • Position requires a minimum of 5+ years experience managing industrial health & safety programs in a broad range of manufacturing environments, a bachelors degree in occupational health and safety (or related field), an appropriate professional certification, or equivalent experience.
  • Must be willing to travel up to 20 % of the time.
