Safety Manager

WADE TRIM is a full-service engineering firm consistently recognized for our award-winning solutions. We are currently seeking a highly motivated, experienced Safety Manager to join our Pittsburgh, PA office.

Candidates must have five or more years of experience overseeing a corporate safety program and possess Safety Professional, OSHA and/or state-mandated safety training certifications. A valid driver’s license is also required. A bachelor degree in Health and Safety Management or a related field is strongly preferred but not required. This position requires frequent travel.

Typical responsibilities include:

  • Lead a company-wide safety training program
  • Ensure Safety Program is in compliance with state and federal safety standards and regulations
  • Stay abreast of the latest safety regulations, laws and trends for government regulatory agencies and industry sources
  • Provide leadership to the Safety User Group, Safety Site Coordinators and Project Managers to ensure the promotion of a safety culture at Wade Trim
  • Recommend safety measures to help protect employees from potentially hazardous work methods, processes, or materials
  • Assist supervisors with accident investigations to identify root causes and determine how these accidents might be prevented in the future
  • Partner with Corporate People Services to identify trends in worker’s compensation claims to determine areas for increased safety training and emphasis on accident prevention
  • Assist with maintaining Experienced Modification Ratings, TRIR and other key indicators with industry levels
  • Meet with the President, Market Segment Leads and Corporate People Services to provide a company-wide safety status update
  • Conduct safety audits/inspections at WT offices, facilities and work sites
  • Prepares and monitors safety budget
  • Develop various safety records and reporting procedures for board of directors
  • Attend safety seminars and/or training classes
