A Fortune 100 manufacturer is seeking an experienced Safety Manager to serve as the highest point of contact for safety strategy and compliance across multiple sites comprising 5000+ employees in the Cedar Falls, IA area. The incumbent will be a key member of the senior leadership team, working cross-functionally to ensure that the company maintains the highest standards of excellence for health and safety.
The role:
- Serve as the department leader and subject matter expert for all health and safety programs, initiatives, metrics and goals
- Work with senior leadership to reinforce safety culture and engagement, using a behavior-based approach
- Liaise with regulatory agencies
- Oversee the medical and occupational health department
- Manage, mentor and develop a team of 6 direct reports
The candidate:
- 10+ years of progressive safety leadership experience in a manufacturing setting
- Bachelor's degree in a related technical discipline required; CSP highly preferred
- Prior experience managing direct reports and implementing programs on a similar scale (i.e. multiple complex sites)
- Excellent communication and leadership skills, adept at interfacing with all levels of employees and influencing senior leadership
