Safety Manager

This position is responsible to plan, direct and implement organizational safety programs to ensure safe, healthy, and accident-free work environment; reduce and eliminate work related injuries and illnesses; develop/maintain a comprehensive filing system for documents pertaining to compliance with OSHA; plan and implement safety policies and procedures in compliance with local, state, federal (OSHA) rules and regulations; work with all departments to develop and enhance a culture of consistent safe behavior; work with management to meet all expected safety goals and objectives; manage safety communication meetings routinely using acceptable criteria; compile and submit accident reports required by regulatory agencies;

Other duties include:
Monitoring adherence to safety regulations including OSHA laws, Workers Compensation, EEO and ADA employment/labor laws; developing curriculum and conducting training for supervisors and crew relating to safety, and perform other tasks as deemed appropriate by management. A high level of initiative is expected, along with the ability to effectively interact and communicate with persons at both the facility and corporate level, and the general public.


  • Education: Bachelor's degree (B.A.) or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Experience: 3+ years' related experience and /or training; prior safety management experience; strong knowledge of safety, health laws, regulations, ergonomics and environmental.
  • Computer Skills: Standard computer skills
  • Communication Skills: Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Special Skills: Display sound judgment and decision-making, leadership and organizational skills. Conduct monthly safety visits to RVAF-T'ville.
  • Travel: Up to 20%
