Safety Manager

FDRsafety is seeking a Safety Manager for a rigging and transportation client near Chantilly, VA. This is a full-time permanent position that will offer a generous base salary, full benefits, and the opportunity for future growth within the company.

The Safety Manager will be responsible for implementing and managing safety programs that will reduce injuries and their associated costs, as well as meet all applicable local, state, and federal regulations governing the transportation industry, including the Federal Motor Carrier Safety Regulations (FMCSR).

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

· Organize, plan, and pioneer our client's Safety Program

· Facilitate and/or oversee safety-related training that is required to remain in compliance with all applicable regulations

· Offer subject matter expertise in safety management and compliance

· Conduct safety audits of facilities to pinpoint unsafe working conditions and practices and develop sound recommendations for corrections

· Investigate and review all accidents/incidents for cause and preventability

· Establish accident trends and tailor training to address the root cause of the issues

· Provide assistance to supervisors and employees regarding any questions or interpretations relating to safety concerns or regulations

· Maintain all required documentation for our client's DOT program and manage driver qualification files to ensure compliance with FMCSR



· Minimum of three (3) years Rigging, Crane, and Construction experience required

· Bachelor’s degree in Safety or related field and

· Four (4) years of relevant experience Safety/DOT related area

· Must have excellent knowledge of OSHA and DOT regulations

· Must possess excellent communication and organizational skills

· Must be experienced in fleet safety and accident/injury prevention programs

· Bi-lingual (English/Spanish) a strong plus



· OSHA 30 certification required

· OSHA 500 certification preferred
