Safety, Health, Environmental (EHS) & Quality Manager

We are seeking a full-time Safety, Health, Environmental and Quality Manager for the Americas business units. The position is responsible for providing Safety, Health, Environmental and Quality advisory services for the Americas business units, lead initiatives, and initiate and/or maintain the ISO 9001 and ISO 14001 certification process. Preferred location in Hillsboro, Oregon or Portland, Maine.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Bachelor of Science degree or technical degree in areas such as engineering, Industrial Hygiene or similar work experience with an emphasis in environment, chemical or construction safety courses.
  • Minimum of 5 years’ experience in a safety, health, environmental and/or quality improvement role. 
  • Experience with ISO certification preferred.
  • Certification to perform OSHA/MSHA training requirements such as Confined Space Entry, ability to facilitate CPR, and first aid training as applicable is preferred.
  • Exceptional verbal and written communication skills.
  • Knowledge of Health and Safety Management systems
  • Knowledge of Quality Management systems


Key Duties:                           

  • Proactively deliver and monitor Safety, Health, Environmental and Quality requirements.
  • Ensure the maintenance of ISO 9001 and ISO 14001 certifications which includes auditing of procedures to ensure they are carried out in accordance with the program to satisfy ISO 9001 and ISO 14001.
  • Audit internal and external processes and policies for the US.
  • Develop quality control processes.  Ensure products are designed and adhere to legal and safety standards.
  • Oversee the Americas quality program which may include and are not limited to quality improvements through ISO, non-conformances, product quality, engineering change orders and customer surveys.
  • Oversee the reporting and track the follow through of product quality non-conformances.
  • Maintain awareness and the information and files related to requirements of OSHA and suppliers and internal and external customers.
  • Manage the documentation and reporting of safety related records and materials for the satisfaction of internal and external requirements.
  • Manage and maintain the administration and documentation of appropriate insurance related materials, worker’s compensation and safety training records for the facilities as needed.
  • Oversee compliance with safety systems and practices including the accountability and recognition programs by recommending safety programs and activities that will develop and maintain incentives for an motivate employees.
  • Assist with general office duties as and when required.
  • To apply requirements of the BS EN ISO 9001 as appropriate within the areas of responsibility
  • To be responsible for the Health, Safety and Environment aspects affecting self, employees and projects in your control
  • Other duties which the Company may reasonably require the individual to undertake.


Physical & Other Requirements:               

  • Travel (20 -30%). International travel possible.
