Job Summary:

The Safety Coordinator is responsible for providing safety review and support by implementing policies and programs that promote a Safety First culture.  Will partner with the Safety Manager to ensure safety initiatives, OSHA and regulatory compliance company wide.

What you will be doing:

  • Ensure compliance of OSHA, regulatory, site/role specific rules and programs from all associates.
  • Communicate with all associates the safety compliance expectations
  • Recommend and implement safety strategies, priorities, and policies to address job site safety
  • Participate in planning meetings and help identify safety and compliance concerns
  • Conduct formal safety audits of activities related to field operations and construction
  • Provide communication and documentation of audits carried out including suggesting necessary corrective measures
  • Provide consultation and advice for management and assist in maintaining a safe work environment
  • Investigate incidents and/or accidents to develop root cause analysis and make recommendations for improvement and prevention of future cases
  • Work with insurance carriers to ensure proper handling of all worker’s compensation, auto and general liability claims
  • Develop and deliver training programs educating associates on health and safety risks
  • Ensure training records, health/safety manuals, incident/accident reports, or other documentation are appropriately maintained
  • Verify compliance with company safety policies and procedures
  • Report on health and safety training, issues, and statistics


What You Need For This Position:

  • Bachelor’s degree in business, safety management or similar field
  • 2+ years of experience as a Safety Coordinator or similar role
  • OSHA certification a plus
  • Excellent knowledge of legislations and procedures
  • Excellent knowledge of potentially hazardous materials or practices
  • 2+ years of experience in producing reports
  • Experience with writing policies and procedures for health and safety
  • Familiarity with conducting data analysis and reporting statistics
  • Proficient in MS Office
  • Working knowledge of safety management information system
  • Outstanding organizational skills
  • Critical thinker and problem-solving skills
  • Team player
  • Good time-management skills
  • Great interpersonal and communication skills
  • Certificate in occupational health and safety
  • Ability to understand OSHA regulations
