U.S. Security Associates, Inc. the market leading and wholly owned American safety and security services provider, is seeking a Safety and Compliance Director in the Atlanta, GA area.

The primary function of Safety and Compliance Director is to promote safety and safety initiatives throughout the company and coordinate these efforts with all branch locations and other facilities within the business unit. This position is responsible for loss control prevention, reporting, investigation, and follow-up, relative to vehicle accidents, personal injury accidents, property damage, near-miss incidents, and customer incidents involving U.S. Security Associates supplied services.

This position must lead the efforts in the effective supervision, management, motivation and training of U.S. Security Associates in areas of personal safety, health, and regulatory compliance concerns. The Safety and Compliance Director is also responsible for ensuring that periodic audits/facility reviews are performed for all facilities, in order to assess compliance with U.S. Security Associates Safety Policies and Procedures, as well as Federal and State regulatory compliance requirements.


  • Provide health and safety expertise to ensure compliance with all applicable federal, state, local, and company policies and regulations.
  • Formulate and manage corporate safety policies and procedures to be followed by Region in compliance with State and Federal Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) and DOT rules and regulations.
  • Address specific reporting and record keeping requirements of the DOT, and OSHA, as well as other pertinent safety/regulatory compliance matters.
  • Implement training programs which will increase proficiency in safe practices and promote safety consciousness.
  • Ensure the proper reporting, investigation, and corrective action for vehicle accidents, personal injury accidents, property damage, near-miss incidents, and customer incidents involving U.S. Security Associates.
  • Complete periodic and one-time safety and compliance reports in a timely fashion.
  • Ensure facility audits are conducted in accordance with the U.S. Security Associates Safety Program and detect existing or potential accident and health hazards. Recommend corrective or preventative measures and work with management to develop and implement improvements.
  • Coach and guide associates and managers regarding safety compliance issues.
  • Provide training, or schedule training by others, and provide updates of the training requirements as they change.
  • Assure that safety meeting and training attendance are properly documented, in accordance with U.S. Security Associates procedures and regulatory agency requirements.
  • Coordinate the efforts of the Safety Committees to reduce the frequency and severity of accidents and injuries.
  • Monitor monthly region safety meetings. Compile reports addressing the efforts and effectiveness of the local meetings, to both national and local management.
  • Attend facility audits conducted by the corporate safety department at locations within the regions.
  • Make studies and analyses of accident causes and hazards to health for use by company personnel and outside agencies.
  • Prepare state, federal, and local environmental, health, and safety reports as required.
  • Willingness to travel 25% plus of the time throughout regions.

Job Requirements


  • Bachelor’s degree from four-year college or university in Safety, Engineering, or related technical field, and at least 5 years of related experience and/or training or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • 8 years of experience in the safety management of services industry personnel or industrial and/or Distribution Company, or 5 years of safety management experience. Certified Safety Professional, Associate Safety Professional, or similar safety accreditation preferred.
  • A history of leadership, cooperation, and positive communication is a must.
  • Working knowledge of Safety and OSHA regulations preferred.
  • Computer proficiency and intermediate knowledge of MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook.



  • Strong proficiency in MS Word, PowerPoint and Excel.
  • Proven ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Highly motivated self-starter, who can effectively prioritize, multi-task and manage to accomplish objectives within tight deadlines.
  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Outstanding communication skills including written, oral, interpersonal, and presentation skills.
  • Ability to perform travel at times for training, auditing, and incident review purposes.
