Safety Advocate

Chicagoland Area

The Safety Advocate applies his or her risk management expertise to promote and improve Assurance clients’ safety culture through on-site safety inspections, written safety programs and safety training presentations. The Safety Advocate works directly with clients to assess and mitigate their safety risks and exposure through preventive, pro-active policies and procedures.


  • Provides safety consultation for assigned clients
  • Conducts on-site safety inspections at various client locations.  Operations may include, but not be limited to, residential construction, commercial construction, manufacturing, healthcare, and related operations
  • Assists companies with safety program implementation guidance including, but not limited to, written program development, safety committee participation and employee training
  • Conducts periodic safety training in areas of proficiency as requested by clients and producers
  • Provides services that are credibly calculated to increase client value


  • Schedules and conducts client surveys along with preparing and submitting activity reports in agency management system
  • Assists with OSHA compliance
  • Updates and informs production team with timely information regarding client service
  • Attends Risk Management and Safety meetings
  • Monitors and analyzes industry trends, developing corrective action plans to improve results


  • Develops written safety programs for various operations related to client
  • Provides risk management services and marketing information to potential and current clients
  • Completes proposals for safety services to assist with achieving department revenue goals


  • Producers License (in state of residence) for Fire and Casualty
  • 2-5 years of experience with safety related responsibilities
  • Bachelor’s degree in Occupational Safety, Industrial Technology or related discipline


  • ASP or CSP designations or working toward the same
