Safety Administrator (entry-level)

LOCATION: Can be based in Orlando, Tampa or Jacksonville, Florida

REPORTS TO: Regional Environmental, Health and Safety Manager

INTERACTS FREQUENTLY WITH: General Managers, Regional GM’s, Branch Safety Coordinators HR Staff, All Branch Personal on Safety / Compliance Items and other corporate associates

JOB OBJECTIVE: Works with and through management, to ensure compliance with safety and environmental procedures and to assist in the achievement of profitability/productivity requirements.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: In addition to the essential job functions described below, all associates will perform duties as requested by management.

  • Responsible for the administrative component of Environmental, Health and Safety department at the regional and corporate level
  • Maintains company EH&S regulatory compliance database
  • Maintains JJ Keller Encompass System (ELD’s)
  • Assists region/corporate with maintenance of DQ files, DISA and 3rd party qualifiers.
  • Assistance with compliance on local, state, and federal rules and regulations as well as DOT.
  • Maintains safety files and records.
  • Assists in the development, evaluation and upgrading of safety programs.
  • Provides support to Regional Safety Manager and Corporate Safety Director.
  • Assists with the management of 3rd party vendors i.e. environmental partner
  • Represent the company in a professional manner at all times ensuring quality customer service
  • Abide by all policies, rules, and regulations of the company including all applicable safety rules, regulations and procedures
  • Support corporate programs, goals, and initiatives of the company
  • Maintains confidentiality of personnel and safety records
  • Work overtime as needed
  • Travel 10% of the time


  • At least three years minimum related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education
  • Prefer experience in OSHA, DOT and EPA regulatory requirements.
  • Excellent Computer skills, proficient in (Office, Word, Excel, Power Point, Outlook), good Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations.
  • Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals. Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers, and the general public.
  • Must have a valid current driver’s license.
  • Must be available and willing to work such weekends and holidays as the employer deter mines are necessary or desirable to meet its business needs.

    • Regional DOT log compliance within JJ Keller Encompass system
    • Regulatory administrative reporting compliance for region
    • Environmental Administrative compliance for region
