Our Opportunity 
Our Safety team is looking for an experienced Safety professional to join our team. The ideal candidate will be located in or around Houston, Texas market. This role is an essential role within the Safety Department. The RSM will be expected to have experience as a Safety Manager within the transportation industry.

Ideal candidate will have working knowledge of FMCSA's Compliance, Safety, Accountability (CSA) Program, DOT, and OSHA Regulatory requirements. He or she will be able to draw on his or her knowledge to drive operational ownership for Safety, Health, and Environmental performance; drive field execution of tactical and strategic initiatives; and establish/ maintain effective working relationship with terminal management, divers, independent contractors, and customers. 

Minimum education/experience necessary to perform the job: 

  • BA/BS Degree in Occupational Safety & Health, Industrial Hygiene, Loss Prevention, Risk 
  • Management or related field required 
  • Knowledge of DOT and OSHA regulatory requirements as it relates to the transportation industry– required 
  • Candidates possessing or in pursuit of any of the following certifications are preferred: Certified 
  • Safety Professional [CSP], Associate Safety Professional [ASP], or Certified Safety Director [CSD] 
  • Minimum of 3+ years of direct field safety experience in 
  • managing employee/contractor Safety & 
  • Health, environmental, workers compensation, and fleet safety management 

Minimum special knowledge and skills required: 

  • Proficient knowledge of Microsoft applications: Excel, Word, and PowerPoint 
  • Capable of managing multiple site locations 
  • Good organizational skills 
  • Excellent interpersonal skills
