Regional Safety Director (Bilingual)

Must be located at or near Orlando, FL.  (This is a regional role for Orlando, Sarasota and Miami)

We are seeking to hire an Environmental, Health and Safety Professional in a fast paced manufacturing environment with a minimum of 3-5 years’ experience and a college degree in Occupational Health and Safety or a relevant major.  Applicants may apply with a combination of advanced schooling and experience they feel is relevant to this position.  This is an opportunity to use your skills and experience in a variety of applications in a growing company that remains very competitive in its sector.

Position Overview
Maintain safe conditions throughout all assigned branches. Train all branch employees on all appropriate subject matter, as directed. Conduct inspections, audits and routine examinations of all work areas to ensure that they are free of recognized hazards and that all established rules and procedures are being followed. Provide guidance and advice to Branch General Manager in all Safety-related areas. Serve as a liaison between the branch and local regulatory agencies, the community as well as the Corporate EHS Director. This position will spend most of the time in Orlando splitting travel to Sarasota and Miami on a 60%-20%-20% rotation between the three sites.

Essential Job Functions

  • Identify all risks/hazards involved in branch operations and recommend/coordinate the appropriate control to limit occupational exposure.
  • Coordinate with Branch General Manager to establish branch safety-related goals and objectives. Report to Corporate EHS Director on any goals and objectives and seek out assistance when necessary.
  • Fulfill all Environmental compliance requirements for your facility based on location and jurisdiction.
  • Provide relevant training and oversight for fleet safety to all assigned CDL drivers.
  • Conduct investigation and Root Cause Analysis on all branch incidents as defined by the company.
  • Maintain branch safety plan, programs and procedures.
  • Conduct any and all appropriate safety training for Plant Operations, Plant Maintenance, and Transportation, as needed, at the branch level and maintain all appropriate training records.
  • Respond to branch emergencies and safety-related incidents, when possible.
  • Interpret, implement and verify compliance with all applicable OSHA, EPA and other regulatory regulations, as appropriate.
  • Conduct audits of entire branch operations for compliance in accordance with all related regulations, including plant and transportation operations.
  • Complete and submit all reports, as directed by the Corporate EHS Director.
  • Coordinate with Branch General Manager to ensure that any official/visitor from a regulatory agency is escorted while at the branch.
  • Collaborate with the HR Manager to manage the Return-to-Work Program.
  • Support the Human Resources department with other projects as applicable.
  • Regularly review Branch 300 and 300A for accuracy.
  • Attend local and regional safety conferences, seminars and classes, as necessary, and remain abreast on current regulations, trends and best practices.
  • Any other duties as directed.

Preferred Requirements

  • A related post-secondary Degree program, or Environmental/Occupational Health & Safety Certification or Diploma
  • Have relevant D.O.T. experience or be willing to become Decision Driver trained to provide relevant training to your facility CDL operators.
  • Knowledge of Occupational Health and Safety Act/Regulations
  • Conducting continual improvement toward certification and higher degrees of knowledge in the field of safety
  • A clear understanding of Trulite Glass & Aluminum Solutions as a company and of rendering as an industry and the desire to remain employed in the industry.
  • Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively and diplomatically.
  • Ability to spend several hours standing/walking and lift 50 pounds.
  • Must have excellent computer skills (developing tables, presentations, drafting reports…)
  • Team player with the ability to build rapport and gain trust.
