Regional Health & Safety Manager

The Regional Health and Safety Manager continuously monitors and improves Health and Safety performance through communication, implementation of corrective actions for identified risks and regional Health and Safety advocacy. The incumbent manages the implementation of company safety programs, policies and procedures for multiple regions. Be responsible to adapt and/or develop risk focussed health and safety programs to that suit the specific requirements of each regional business. 

The incumbent will concurrently assist with the development and planning of certain national projects. The Regional Manager will provide independent, objective feedback to management regarding achievements and regional performance as it pertains to safety standards, policies, and procedures. Manages multiple subordinates within various, dissimilar local markets across multiple product segments. 


  • Implement programs to support business groups and strategic safety initiatives.
  • Direct the region’s safety program to meet overall company safety requirements through initiation and promotion of day-to-day safety policies and development and delivery of safety training activities for employees and management
  • Coordinate communications of occupational hazards and risks to both managers and the workforce
  • Assist with the design of national standards programs and procedures to control, eliminate and prevent disease or injury.
  • Conduct or oversees audits and inspections and validate adherence to company policy, laws and regulations governing the health and safety of individuals.
  • Participate in the investigation of serious incidents and injuries and advise in the preparation of material and evidence for organization to use in hearings, lawsuits and insurance investigations.
  • Advises on compliance matters and interacts with operating locations regarding interaction with state and federal agencies as needed (MSHA, OSHA, ATF, USCG/HS, etc.)
  • Prepares and delivers adhoc reports with accuracy and timeliness.
  • Advise Regional Heads regarding effective resource deployment.
  • Other duties as assigned.


  • Required Education:  Bachelor's/Undergraduate Degree
  • Additional Education Preferred: Master's/Graduate Degree
  • Field of Study Preferred:  Safety, Health or other related discipline        
  • Required Work Experience:   7-10
  • Licenses Preferred:  IOSH Chartered Status Preferred
  • Required Computer and Software Skills: Advanced computer skills with proficiency in Microsoft Office applications and SAP experience.   

Other Required Skills/Abilities: 

  • Sound knowledge of the ACM or large industrial manufacturing processes
  • Demonstrated knowledge/experience with local, state and federal laws and other government compliance regulations including OSHA, MSHA and DOT (possible Coast Guard).
  • Ability to be responsive and persuasive at all levels of the organization.
  • Mental Agility - Adaptable to varied local conditions across product segments.
  • Effective communication and analytical skills.
