Process Safety Specialist

Georgia Pacific is seeking a Process Safety Specialist to join our team in Crossett, AR at the Crossett Facility.

A Day In The Life Typically Includes:

  • Facilitate the implementation of the Georgia Pacific Process Safety Standard into the Pulp, Utilities and Paper Machine areas.  
  • Gather and centrally organize information pertaining to all elements of the Georgia Pacific Process Safety standard to help ensure sustainability for the facility
  • Manage and audit site's process safety information in accordance with Georgia Pacific Process Safety standard.
  • Organize, update and execute PHAs, LOPAs, HAZOPs, etc. for the Paper Machines and Converting operations.
  • Act as site subject matter expert on MOC process and assist with SDRs, PSSRs, and process safety related incident investigations
  • Own/manage various process safety related site metrics, spreadsheets, and databases
  • Assist with process safety program administration including:  training, conducting periodic internal audits, and employee safety committee participation
  • Time management, organizational, and communication skills


What You Will Need:
Basic Qualifications:

  • Five years of operational experience in Pulping, Paper Making, and/or Converting operations.
  • Experience with the Process Safety standard
  • Experience with PSM, RMP, or equivalent
  • Experience working with P&IDs
  • Experience with MOC program (originator, owner, or safety design member)
  • Experience with MS Office Suite, particularly Outlook, Word, and Excel

What Will Put You Ahead?
Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience with facilitating, participating in, and/or scribing PHAs
  • PSM background including MOC, SDR, PSSR, HAZOP, etc.
  • Project management or process engineering experience
  • Associates degree or higher in Occupational Safety, or other related fields   

Physical Requirements/Unusual Working Conditions:

  • Ability to climb ladders and stairs up to 100 feet
  • Must possess the ability to carry and utilize all required personal protective equipment
  • Must be able to support the facility which is a continuous operation and work outdoors in various types of weather
