Process Safety Manager & Mechanical Integrity Leader

Georgia-Pacific's Global Safety Team in Atlanta, GA is seeking a Process Safety Manager- Mechanical Integrity Leader to drive innovation of new technologies, tools, and methods across equipment types and MI disciplines (i.e., fixed equipment, machinery, electrical, and instrumentation and controls).  This role will create value through collaboration across GP and with our partners (vendors) to initiate creative destruction for improved MI performance and provide strategic oversight and coaching across all businesses focused on Process Safety MI Risk Management.  This role facilitates process safety excellence and performance improvement through culture change, collaboration, and coaching working closely with global, division, and facility leaders. This position will report to the Global Safety and Health Process Safety Excellence Director based in Atlanta but may be homebased with ability and willingness to travel.

A Day In The Life Typically Includes:
* Drive MI innovation using new technologies, tools and methods.
* Increase the pace of learning and innovation by rapid experimentation, implementation, and scaling of solutions.
* Identifying internal customer needs and promote best in class practices and concepts to leverage across the organization; including opportunities to use creative destruction to develop better solutions.
* Partner with GP’s Collaborative Support Center (CSC), businesses, and vendors to evaluate expertise, tools, and methods and benchmark practices across business and industries.
* Develop measures and metrics to create MI performance visibility and enable oversight, challenge, and focus around risks.
* Develop MI leadership through coaching, mentoring, assessing and feedback of ongoing health of critical equipment and safety systems.
* Lead audits and assessments of MI performance partnering with businesses and facilities to identify top risks and support development of action plans to develop sustainable solutions.
* Evaluate vendor MI performance, including quality of work and reports, across GP and provide feedback and recommendations to vendors, businesses, and facilities.
* Support the development or update of MI protocols and DOM (Design, Operate, and Maintain) standards.
* Participate in industry and trade groups to benchmark and identify good practices such as NACE, TAPPI, API, ASME, ISA, etc.

What You Will Need:

Basic Qualifications:
* Bachelor's Degree or higher in Mechanical, Chemical, Civil, Electrical or Materials/Corrosion Engineering and five (5) or more years of industrial manufacturing or military experience — OR— ten (10) or more years of Reliability/MI experience in a manufacturing, industrial, or military environment 
* Effective one-on-one and small group communication and coaching skills that support collaborative teamwork and the ability to influence others
* Must have an effective working knowledge of Microsoft Word and Excel
* Must be able and willing to work in a manufacturing plant environment, including extended periods of time in dusty, noisy, non-air conditioned or unheated areas
* Willing and able to travel 40% to 60%.

* Experience in the pulp & paper industry or chemical industry
* Experience with managing equipment in pulp & paper or other process fields
* Experience leading maintenance, engineering, reliability, or mechanical integrity teams supporting a manufacturing site
