Process Safety Manager [JS-11409]

A leading manufacturer is searching for a Process Safety Manager to join their team. This role would be based in their Sacramento location and will be responsible for the development and implementation of the Process Hazard Analysis (PHA) element within the Process Safety Management (PSM) Program.

Working across their various functions including: industrial manufacturing, confined spaces, material handling (forklifts, cranes/hoists), IPP implementation, and emergency response. You will assist in driving forward company-wide engagement across all business levels towards safety. The Role:

  • Show leadership by mentoring, training, and reminding others of priorities for safe startup and operation of campaigns, and if necessary, approve/disapprove accordingly.
  • Schedule PHAs in accordance with AFC production schedule, coordinate resources and process safety information development for PHA studies, facilitate PHA studies, record and track PHA recommendations to completion.
  • Compile data, generate spreadsheets and charts, etc., and routinely distribute status reports to supervision and management on the status of the PHA program and PHA recommendations
  • Participate in Readiness Reviews, including job walks, for campaigns and their interim steps as they are preparing for startup.
  • Ensure company continually remains compliant and informed of industry regulatory changes when it comes to bodies such as OSHA.


The Candidate:

  • B.S. in Safety, Chemistry, Industrial Hygiene, Engineering, or related science
  • At least 8-10 years of directly related technical experience or a combination of education and experience
  • A proven leader, with strong communication skills who can engage with diverse team
  • Experience dealing with regulatory bodies e.g. OSHA
  • PHA facilitator certification preferred or knowledge of PSM and PHA
