Process Safety Engineer (042566) - Savannah River Mill in Rincon, Georgia

Currently recruiting for a Process Safety Engineer in the Process Safety Management group of the Savannah River Mill in Rincon, Georgia. This role is responsible for developing and implementing the asset strategy (reliability and operating envelop) piece of process safety management and providing technical expertise for equipment. This role reports to the Process Safety Manager

A Day In The Life Typically Includes:

  • Lead development of asset strategies
  • Learn and apply reliability principles such as Asset Strategy Improvement (ASI), Root Cause Analysis (RCA), and Precision Maintenance (PM)
  • Become a subject matter expert for process safety management (PSM) and risk management process (RPM) requirements
  • Maintain and improve plant mechanical and equipment integrity programs
  • Lead and/or participate in development of capital investments proposals to improve plant reliability
  • Conduct & follow-up on equipment failures, utilizing root cause failure analysis
  • Lead facility run improvement and/or capital projects

What You Will Need:
Basic Qualifications:

  • A B.S. Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Chemical Engineering, Environmental Engineering, or related engineering or physical science discipline
  • A minimum of 3 years experience within pulp and paper or chemical industry
  • A minimum of 2 years process operations/process safety experience in an industrial or manufacturing setting
  • A minimum of 2 years experience working in a Process Safety Management (PSM) covered facility

What Will Put You Ahead?
Preferred Qualifications:

  • A Bachelor's degree or higher in Mechanical Engineering
  • Experience in a chemical process safety or process safety management covered facility
  • Knowledge in root cause analysis (RCA)
  • Knowledgeable on ASME/API codes
  • Experience in Reliability Centered Maintenance (RCM)
  • A minimum of 3 years project management experience proficient with Microsoft Office Suite, including advanced knowledge of Excel (i.e. - spreadsheet creation/editing, pivot tables, data manipulation/analysis and formulas creation etc.) and MS Word (document creation, formatting and editing etc
