Plant Safety Manager

We are seeking a Plant Safety Manager for our Greeley, Colorado plant.

We Ask Of You To:

  • Provide leadership to the plant Safety & Health process to ensure risk reduction, injury prevention, and compliance with federal, state, and local regulations.
  • Serve as the location subject matter expert for safety and health.
  • Develop, implement, and manage safety and health policies and programs.
  • Partner with plant operations and the employee safety teams to drive continuous improvement in the work environment, to build a safety awareness culture, and to promote and reinforce safe behaviors.
  • Be the plant liaison for Corporate Safety initiatives.
  • Be responsible for safety training and education, safety inspections, safety engagement, regulatory compliance, incident analysis and response, and PSM/RMP/HAZMAT.
  • Supervise, mentor, and develop non-exempt safety technician leads.
  • Drives loss control efforts utilizing up-to-date incident analysis data to achieve the greatest impact for continued reduction in injuries, property damage, and environmental losses.

You Have (Minimum Qualifications):

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent in Safety/Occupational Health, production management, business, or similar program.
  • Minimum three years of progressive supervisory/managerial leadership experience in occupational safety positions, with a substantial portion of it in a manufacturing operation.
  • Familiar with industrial operations.
  • Technically sound in occupational safety and health fundamentals and best practices, and the application of them in manufacturing operations.
  • Strong functional/technical skills and knowledge of state and federal health and safety regulations including OSHA CFR 29-2910 General Industry Standards.
  • Working knowledge of OSHA CFR 29-1926 Construction Industry Standards.
  • Ability to organize, prioritize, and manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
  • Ability to effectively delegate and get work accomplished through others.
  • Action oriented and the capacity to drive for results.
  • Proficient in the Microsoft Office Suite programs.
  • Effective oral and written communication skills.
  • Excellent interpersonal and coaching skills.
  • Superior negotiating and problem resolution skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to lead and develop a safety culture mind-set.

We Hope You Also Have (Preferred Qualifications):

  • Experience in the manufacturing of food products preferably in the dairy industry.
  • Active affiliation with appropriate safety professional networks and organizations.
  • Associate Safety Professional (ASP) or Certified Safety Professional (CSP) certification.
