Job Summary:
The incumbent will provide leadership to and direct the resources and activities of the organization support the Company's safety strategy and programs. The incumbent will provide advice and guidance to Company and senior location management and will be responsible for the ongoing development and implementation of safety expectations, systems, and programs to ensure effective workplace safety processes and culture are in place.

 Job Responsibilities:

  •  Develops, maintains, and communicates safety strategies and policies to ensure effective injury prevention, regulatory compliance, and a safety excellence culture are maintained throughout the Company.
  • Develops, maintains, and measure performance against key performance indicators in conjunction with the Company safety strategy. Evaluates performance of safety program activities and provides summary report to senior Location and Company Leadership.
  • Acts as an advocate for the principles of continuous safety improvement through behavior-based initiatives, human and organizational performance risk management efforts, personal accountability and ownership of safety as a core value.
  • Plans, directs and manages the safety programs and policies as needed to meet Company goals and objectives.
  • Supports the design and implementation stages of cultural and behavioral safety review programs. Designs processes that help identify gaps, overlaps and replication opportunities to be communicated and fed into strategic plans.
  • Tracks, communicates and incorporates, as appropriate, regulatory changes to ensure compliance with applicable safety requirements including statutes, regulations, agency letters of interpretation and pertinent industry codes and standards.
  • Supports the development of and drives the implementation of a company standard for safety training and education programs to ensure adequate and necessary knowledge of appropriate regulations, requirements and company standards and objectives.
  • Plans, directs and manages the industrial hygiene programs of the Company. Recognizes, evaluates, recommends and implements policies and systems for monitoring and preventing chemical, biological and physical hazards and diseases present throughout the organization's work sites.
  • Acts as lead or technical support for major safety incident investigations.


Internal Controls:
Develops and maintains departmental processes and procedures designed to support internal controls efforts. Identifies and creates remedies for internal controls deficiencies. Ensures staff members are aware of, understand and comply with all internal control policies and procedures
