Environmental Health & Safety (EHS) Specialist

Loureiro Engineering Associates, Inc. (Loureiro) has an immediate need for entry and mid-level Health & Safety (H&S) specialists to support our growing EHS division.  This candidate will be responsible for supporting both project work based in our Plainville, CT office, and providing EHS support at client sites.

Duties will include: 

  • Assisting in coordination and preparation of reports;
  • Development and maintenance of a variety of safety plans & programs, including:
  • Hazard Communication (Hazcom/GHS) Program;
  • Energy Isolation and Lockout/Tagout (LOTO) Program;
  • Personal Protective Equipment (PPE);
  • Respiratory Protection;
  • Confined Spaces;
  • Emergency Response Plans;
  • Process Safety Management (PSM)/Risk Management Planning (RMP);
  • Job Safety Analyses (JSA's);
  • Machine Guarding Assessments;
  • Industrial Hygiene Sampling;
  • Participate in and/or lead client safety committee meetings;
  • Provide on-site EHS support to a variety of clients;
  • Conduct EHS audits and support client’s external audits.


Qualifications:
This position will require excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, as the successful candidate will interface with clients at all levels.  The ideal candidate will be a self-starter with EHS internships or work experience, preferably in a consulting environment. Degree in Environmental Health & Safety or closely related field required.  This position will require travel to client sites within the state most days, with occasional travel out-of-state. The candidate must be able to work well in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment.
