Environmental, Health & Safety (EHS) Specialist

Trinity Manufacturing, an expanding specialty chemical manufacturing company located near the Pinehurst, NC area, is seeking an EHS Specialist.

This person will be responsible for maintaining a thorough knowledge of EHS regulations (OSHA, EPA, DOT, etc.) and support compliance activities across the site.  Will coordinate and develop materials for regularly scheduled & one-time training events to meet annual requirements & company management system goals.  Associate will contribute to the development and review of EHS programs & SOPs and administer key program elements (such as written respiratory program, hazard communication program), will gather information and prepare or assist with the submission of required environmental reports (Tier II, TRI, etc.), will design, facilitate and participate in EHS audits. 

Ideal candidate will identify, track and develop reports for safety and environmental metrics, facilitate the incident investigation process at the site level as it relates to incidents, hazard observations, and near misses, working with Operations and Engineering to develop final reports and corrective actions and assist operations, engineering and supply chain with pre-selection and post-evaluation of contractors, facilitate emergency response, emergency management and security programs including training, drills, and documentation.  Will be required to support site Process Safety Management (PSM), Responsible Care Management System (RCMS), and Quality Program (ISO 9001).  Person will manage site EHS inventory, including PPE, spill kits, and industrial hygiene monitoring equipment and other duties as assigned.  

Bachelor’s Degree in Environmental Health & Safety, Engineering, or related technical field and/or training or an equivalent combination of education & experience; strong working knowledge of chemistry; strong organizational & interpersonal skills (written & verbal); Working knowledge of federal, state and local regulations including chemical, hazardous material safety and handling regulations, and facility/product security.  Must have excellent computer skills using word processing, excel, outlook, and internet.
