Environmental, Health & Safety (EHS) Manager
As our EHS Manager, you will continually improve the overall safety of our Grandview, MO plant and maintain compliance to the plant’s environmental permits. You will conduct safety and environmental training for all plant employees to maintain OSHA compliance and will be responsible for the purchase of safety related PPE and equipment. This position reports to the Plant Director.


  • Responsible for promoting and ensuring food safety, legality and quality ensuring the conformance of plants processes and activities to FDA cGMP 21CFR Part 110), ISO 9001, EXCiPACT, and BRC standards
  • Coordinate the use of resources to assist with reviewing programs, recommending improvements and implementing programs to ensure plant’s safety program addresses all identified needs and meets corporate and governmental requirements, for example Confined Space Entry, Emergency Evacuation, Electrical Safety, Accident Reporting, Ergonomics, etc.;
  • Develop and implement an Accident Reduction Program to provide on-going assessments of accident rates and reduce reportable accidents at the facility.
  • Conducts Safety Training of all plant employees, organizes and implements all special training needs for the Emergency Action Team. Develop and implements an effective new employee orientation program related to safety which includes an effective introduction to the plant’s PPE requirements, forklift certification and OSHA required training modules.
  • Support plant audits and provide annual information for required permits; Act as the principle contact between Corbion and regulatory agencies and inspectors; respond to auditor correspondence.
  • Serve on Plant’s Safety Committee and schedule/organize meetings, enlist members, and ensure effectiveness of the Committee. Will also be an active participant in monthly safety meetings with other Corbion safety managers.
  • Monitor plant and collect samples for testing to complete the necessary environmental reports for storm and waste water permits and submit to appropriate regulatory agencies.
  • Provide contributions to the Grandview Monthly KAI/KPI Report that provide an overview of Grandview performance in both Environmental and Safety areas.
  • Manage capital expenditures to budget with management approval.
  • Responsible for developing/maintaining a dynamic sustainable recycling program.


  • Bachelor’s degree preferred or relevant experience in EH&S roles.
  • 2+ years’ experience in the field of environmental, health and safety in a manufacturing environment.
  • Must understand the standards within FDA cGMP (21CFR Part 110), ISO 9001, and BRC standards
  • Able to design safety training programs for new hires and existing employees
  • Must be able to lead and influence at all levels within organization
  • Exceptional critical thinking and problem solving skills required
  • Proven track record of safety management and people management
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
