Environmental, Health & Safety (EHS) Manager
This position is primarily responsible for site environment, health and safety compliance.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities

  • Lead the development and implementation of environmental health and safety initiatives to achieve company goals. Ensures all activities are completed in a timely and correct manner.
  • Comply with requirements of the Quality and Environmental Management Systems.
  • Serve as Radiation Safety Officer (RSO).
  • Serve as Laser Safety Officer (LSO).
  • Develop curriculum for the Electronic Learning Management System (ELMS) and participate as a trainer for live learning.
  • Serve as system administrator for MSDS Online, keep the system current and add chemicals to the library.
  • Review chemical contaminants on instruments being returned for service/warrantee work. Maintain Approved/Disapproved chemical lists. Interface with Service Coordinators to resolve issues and define proper PPE for handling chemicals coming on-site
  • Manage all chemicals on site. Receive chemicals, label and stock in the chemical warehouse. Conduct a monthly physical inventory and scrap expired, obsolete and unused chemicals.
  • Review all new chemical purchases and create Chemical Part Numbers in SAP. Establish PPE guidelines for new chemicals.
  • Manage all of the Hazardous Waste, Solid Waste, Universal Waste and Recyclable materials generated on site.
  • Manage the Petroleum Bulk Storage tanks on site including monthly inspections and the stocking of spill response materials
  • Management of the wastewater and storm water generated on site including wastewater sampling and semi-annual reporting.
  • Lead the safety programs at INFICON including:
    • Safety Supplies and AEDs
    • Laboratory Safety
    • Walking and Working Surfaces
    • PPE
    • Respiratory Protection
    • Fork Lift Training
    • First Responder Training
    • Machine Guarding
    • Electrical Safety and Lock out/Tag out
    • Incident Investigation
    • OSHA Reporting
    • Complete customer EHS questionnaires
    • Operate the fire alarm panels and be able to respond to trouble signals and alarms. Arrange for the inspections of the fire protection systems.
    • Operate the building security system and champion improvements to improve safety.


Skills & Abilities

  • Ability to follow written and verbal instructions.
  • Computer proficiency and the ability to be a system administrator is a must.
  • May occasionally be required to work overtime.
  • Must be able to lift up to 25lbs on a daily basis.


Education/Experience Requirements

  • Bachelors degree (Science, Environmental Science, Engineering) and 5-8 years of experience with EHS. Will consider candidates with equivalent relevant experience/background, certifications and/or degree.
  • 6-7 years of experience with EHS in a manufacturing and laboratory environment.
