Environmental, Health, Safety (EHS) & Emergency Response Specialist

Banda Group is seeking a EHS Emergency Response Safety Specialist (ERT). The Emergency Response Technician is the first line responder in situations when construction workers’ safety is at risk. The EHS ERT is expected to take necessary measures to ensure the safety of all personnel working onsite. When not responding to an emergency, the EHS ERT is expected to be involved in preventative safety measures: SAFE walks, safety education programs, and emergency preparedness drills. The ERT is expected to be a role model of safety and ensure safe practices at all times. 

Position Responsibilities: 

  • Respond to both emergency and non-emergency calls, by exercising calm, efficiency and promptness.
  • Involvement in preventative safety programs and ensuring the readiness of the emergency response team.
  • Monitor, inspect and maintain emergency response equipment, ensuring that it is in good working order.
  • Attend awareness and competent person level courses.
     

Minimum Requirements & Expectations: 

  • Education/ Experience
  • Minimum of 1 year of Emergency Response experience. (EMT, Fire, Rescue are all acceptable)
  • Degree in Emergency Response and Emergency Management preferred
  • A medical certification in an emergency capacity is strongly preferred. 


Skills:

  • Working knowledge of the ERT Incident and Command Structure
  • Ability to speak and communicate with local jurisdiction and site emergency team
  • Extremely organized and versed in crisis management situations
  • Computer literate with Microsoft Office such that training programs, documents, spreadsheets and presentations can be generated
  • Ability to interface with construction personnel in the field to include management
  • Strong verbal/written communication skills along with demonstrated organizational and leadership skills.
  • Ability to wear equipment potentially weighing up to 60lbs.
     

Key Needed/Beneficial Skills:

  • Working knowledge of the ERT Incident and Command Structure
  • Competent in Microsoft Office Suite (Outlook, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint)
