Environmental Health & Safety (EHS) Coordinator

TransCore, a subsidiary of Roper Technologies, Inc. (NYSE: ROP) is seeking a talented Environmental, Safety & Health Coordinator to join our team in Nashville, TN. 

The Environmental, Safety & Health (ES&H) Coordinator is responsible for development and administration of the company’s safety, health, and environmental program, including oversight of safety programs and training and ensuring compliance with all federal, state, and local regulations, as well as any industry, corporate or other required guidelines.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

  • Ensures that TransCore has effective programs and systems to protect the safety of our employees and comply with or exceed ES&H regulatory requirements.
  • Liaison with regional safety personnel to communicate policies and procedures, training curriculum and schedules.
  • Integrates all aspects of ES&H processes, procedures, systems, and policies critical to the success of multiple TransCore projects.
  • Write and edit Safety Plans and Project Management plans as required for submission to customers.
  • Develop policies and practices to facilitate safe operation of field operations.
  • Provide interpretation of complex ES&H requirements and formulate methodologies across TransCore operations for maintaining ES&H compliance.
  • Advise operational business segments in development of appropriate ES&H plans to ensure project adherence to customer requirements.
  • Provide input to operational business segments for project-level ES&H plans in response to requests for proposal.
  • Provide support to project management for compliance with ES&H requirements and addressing ES&H issues as they arise during project execution.
  • In conjunction  with General Counsel, serve as point of contact for regulatory agency personnel regarding corporate safety and environmental matters, audits, and investigations.
  • Audit implementation of safety programs at the regional level to ensure internal compliance.
  • Conduct on-site safety evaluations and recommend corrective action.
  • Develop and implement organizational ES&H training programs and training recordkeeping systems.
  • Provide training required for compliance to ensure that all employees are trained and that safety policies are integrated into daily operations.
  • Compile safety statistics, investigate hazards and recommend corrective action.
  • Partner with Human Resources and Risk Management to administer Worker’s Compensation Program.
  • This position may supervise, directly and/or indirectly, other ES&H personnel.
  • Frequent travel is required.    


  • Required Bachelors Degree with preferred emphasis in Occupational Safety and Health, Construction Management or Construction Engineering with safety emphasis or related field; CSP Certification is desired. 
  • Required five (5) years experience working with environmental, safety, and health programs including at least three (3) years in a civil or building construction environment.
  • Working expertise with ES&H laws, regulations, and procedures.
  • Demonstrated experience managing construction ES&H compliance with progressive ES&H leadership roles.
  • ES&H certifications by a national certification body (i.e., CSP).
  • Previous supervisory experience of ES&Hstaff.
  • Proficient in the use Microsoft Word, Excel and PowerPoint.
  • Excellent communication, leadership and organizational skills.
  • Ability to handle multiple priorities and meet deadlines.
