Environmental, Health & Safety (EHS) Coordinator
The EHS Coordinator is tasked with ensuring safety and environmental compliance at the Experic facility. 

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES 

  • Manage Health & Safety Programs
  • Write SOPs and Revise SOPs
  • Train Staff
  • Create Job Hazards Analyses
  • Run safety team and perform monthly safety site inspections
  • Implement First Aid team
  • Perform/Lead accident and near miss investigations
  • Manage Hazardous Waste Storage and Disposal Program
    • Write and Revise SOPs
    • Train Staff
    • Interact with Transportation and Disposal Vendor
    • Inspect and set-up Hazardous Waste Accumulation Areas
    • Manage EPA/NJDEP audits and licenses
  • Program specific evaluation for Hazardous Communication
  • Work with operations to evaluate and approve the appropriate level of PPE, procedure, and engineering controls needed for specific chemicals, drug products, and processes
  • Verify chemicals are handled, stored, and disposed of in accordance with regulations

 

ADDITIONAL POSITION REQUIREMENTS

  • Carries out duties in compliance with all federal and state regulations and guidelines.
  • Complies with all company and site policies and procedures including but not limited to safety, standard operating procedures, and work instructions.
  • Remains current in profession and industry trends.

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • None

 

QUALIFICATIONS: EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE

  • Bachelor Degree in life sciences plus three (3) years professional experience in an EHS role or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Experience dealing with Potent and Highly Potent Compounds.
  • Experience evaluating respiratory risks and determining PPE and engineering controls.
  • Experience with EPA and OSHA regulations.

 

LANGUAGE SKILLS

  • Read, write, review and interpret documents such as standard operating procedures, manuals, batch records, work instructions, specifications, protocols, contracts.
  • Legible Handwriting.
  • Communicate clearly in writing and orally.

 

MATHEMATICAL SKILLS

  • Apply concepts of basic arithmetic such as addition, subtraction, fractions, percentages, ratios and proportions to practical solutions.

 

OTHER SKILLS, ABILITIES OR QUALIFICATIONS

  • Demonstrate effective collaboration and teamwork.
  • Demonstrate experience working in a cGxP environment.
  • Familiar with project management tools and technologies such as Microsoft Project.
  • Successfully completes regulatory and job training requirements.
  • Computer skills:Ability to perform repetitive tasks while maintaining speed of work and attention to detail without loss to production.
    • Enter data into computer using software applications for data entry, data analysis, statistical analysis, and word processing.
    • Work and be proficient with e-mail systems.
  • Ability to work with others in a team environment.

 

PHYSICAL DEMANDS

  • While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently required to stand, walk, use hands to touch, handle or feel, and talk or hear.
  • The employee is occasionally required to sit and reach with hands and arms.
  • The employee must be able to lift and/or move up to 50 pounds frequently.
