Environmental Coordinator

Koch Fertilizer, LLC is seeking an Environmental Coordinator to join the Terminals and Value Added Products Compliance Team located in Wichita, KS.  The successful candidate will support multiple operations teams across the business. 

A Day In The Life Typically Includes:
As an Environmental subject matter expert, this position will be the primary point of contact for field locations and personnel with respect to Environmental and state Department of Agriculture compliance requirements. This role is responsible for preparing and submitting required environmental agency reports, such as Tier 2 reports, emission inventory reports, discharge monitoring reports, and Risk Management Plans, while ensuring the highest standard of accuracy, completeness and timeliness, following internal procedures for quality assurance review.

This position will also be responsible for managing environmental permit renewals, in topics of air, water, waste and agriculture. This requires some interaction with government agencies. This role is also required to identify environmental compliance needs for projects executed at supported facilities, and support facilities during agency inspections and internal audits. Additional requirements of the role include sharing knowledge across the organization, and seeking input from internal and external resources to make decisions that support compliance and value creation. 

What You Will Need:
Basic Qualifications:

  • Self-starter, demonstrates personal initiative and ownership of role responsibilities
  • Ability to build strong working relationships with partners across the organization
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Detail oriented
  • 2+ years of experience in Environmental Compliance or Engineering position
  • Bachelor's degree in an Environmental Science or related engineering or science field (i.e. Chemistry, Geology, Biology)
  • Must be able to travel up to 50% of the time

What Will Put You Ahead?
Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience interacting with regulatory agencies
  • Experience with specific regulatory requirements in multiple states
  • Familiarity with waste profiling
  • Knowledge of continuous improvement and efficiency models
  • Experience developing and delivering compliance training

Physical Requirements:

  • Must be able to climb stairs and ladders
  • Must be able to lift up to 25 pounds periodically
