Environmental Consulting Office / Sr. Project Manager

Location: Central IL

Position Summary:  The successful candidate will lead and manage company’s environmental services team in the central Illinois office. This regional Midwestern environmental company has provided design, construction and operations services for specialized remediation systems for over 25 years. The ideal candidate will bring new customers [not an initial requirement] and develop new business opportunities, with existing and new clientele, for our established professional service business. This is a strategic hire for the company as part of succession and growth plans for Illinois.

Environmental services provided to our clients include Environmental Compliance, Site Assessment and Remediation, and Real Estate Development projects primarily in Illinois but can include work in nearby States (MO, IA, IN, WI). Of particular interest in the successful candidate’s background is experience in real estate due diligence and site development, site assessment and closure projects for UST systems, as well as a range of environmental compliance services.

Education and experience required:

• Minimum Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Geology, or related discipline;

** Professional certification strongly preferred (e.g. PE, PG)**

• Demonstrated leadership and management skills.

• Prior experience providing environmental engineering services and/or technical consulting services.

• Excellent communication skills, building relationships with both customers and teaming with staff internally.

• Strong verbal and reporting skills.

• Comfortable managing customer calls and contacts.

• Professional certifications commensurate with the position.

Considerations of note:

•     Prior professional training and experience.

•     Team Player – Ability to team with technical staff.

•     Familiarity with bid and proposal processes.

•     Technical understanding of state and local regulatory requirements.

•     Self-motivated individual.


•     Ability to manage and mentor technical staff including Project Managers and Junior Engineers/Scientists.

•     Develop and manage customer relationships.

•     Identify, develop and pass off opportunities to existing staff but maintain quality control contacts.


The successful candidate must have a good driving record and be able to pass a drug test.
