Environmental Compliance Manager

Suit-Kote Corporation, headquartered in Cortland, New York was founded in 1921. We are the premier privately owned asphalt products manufacturer, road construction, maintenance and asphalt applications engineering company in the Northeast.


Suit-Kote Corporation is looking for a motivated and disciplined individual to coordinate and maintain compliance with all applicable environmental regulations. This work will require analysis of ongoing operations for compliance, planning and executing projects to improve environmental performance, reporting to governmental agencies and interfacing with environmental consultants. The ideal candidate is responsible, outgoing, efficient and a fast learner. This position is based out of the Tully, NY office and will report to the Environmental, Health and Safety Director. 


  • Ensure compliance with Federal, State and Local regulations pertaining to the following programs: PBS, MOSF, CBS, NPDES/SPDES, Air, Mining, RCRA, Part 360, TSCA CDR, TRI, Tier II, and drinking water
  • Effectively communicate information to Suit-Kote employees, managers and regulators Audit and update SPCC, SPR, FRP, BMP and other plans necessitated by regulatory agencies, as needed
  • Complete groundwater and surface water sampling
  • Prepare monthly, quarterly and annual reports for NYSDEC, EPA, USACOE and other agencies
  • Conduct training sessions to comply with Federal, State and Local requirements
  • Update facility maps using AutoCAD


  • Passing a pre-employment drug and alcohol screening is required and a background check will be conducted
  • Strong work ethic
  • Willingness to travel 10% of the work week to facilities in New York and Pennsylvania


  • College graduate majoring in a field related to environmental science
  • Familiarity with the asphalt and asphalt emulsion industry
  • Familiarity with Federal, New York, Pennsylvania and Local environmental regulations
  • Experience in a product manufacturing setting
  • 24-Hour Hazardous Materials Technician Training
  • NYSDEC 4-Hour Erosion and Sediment Control Training
