Environment, Health & Safety (EHS) Specialist - Systems & Processes

The Environment, Health & Safety Specialist -- Systems and Processes is corporate position responsible for leading the application of EHS management systems at FCA NAFTA and supporting other key processes in the areas of auditing and training. Integration of these systems into the company's manufacturing operating system, World Class Manufacturing, is also a key activity.

Primary duties include: 

  • Manage the enterprise ISO 14001, OHSAS 18001, and ISO 50001 integrated management system and certifications and support other stand-alone certifications
  • Serve as the management representative or equivalent for enterprise certifications and conduct internal audits
  • Provide directional and hands-on support for sites working to get their management systems initially implemented
  • Conduct training for groups of FCA employees
  • Administer EHS software systems as needed, primarily in the area of Auditing and Corrective Action
  • Support development and execution of the EHS training program
Basic Qualifications: 

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Science, Environmental or Safety Management or equivalent field required 
  • Minimum of 5 years environmental, health & safety and ISO-based management systems experience
  • Strong management, written/oral communication, organizational, and leadership skills are required 
  • Ability and enthusiasm for conducting subject matter training to groups of employees 
  • Strong computer proficiency including Microsoft Office Professional, PowerPoint, spreadsheets 
  • Must be self-directed 
  • Visits to FCA NAFTA sites required, including some travel in the NAFTA region
Preferred Qualifications: 

  • Master's degree 
  • Experience with EHS Enterprise Software
  • Professional certifications: PE or equivalent, CHMM or equivalent 
  • Manufacturing experience 
  • Project management experience a plus
