Enviornmental Health & Safety (EHS) Manager

FUNCTION

Responsible for development, implementation and management of all corporate loss prevention programs relative to company assets, safety, security and emergency response and disaster recovery programs for corporate office, manufacturing and distribution facilities as well as retail store locations. 

ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES (Note: Other duties may be assigned)

  • Develop and manage environmental, health and safety programs and policies to ensure compliance with applicable state and federal regulations. 
  • Responsible for management of Worker’s Compensation Program to ensure compliance with state and federal regulations
  • Collaborate with IT, Finance, Human Resources, Facilities and other key members of management to develop, implement and maintain emergency response and disaster recovery programs
  • Identify and analyze work environments to ensure proper ergonomics
  • Responsible for development and management of company-wide loss prevention and EH&S training programs
  • Assist with facility design to ensure compliant, safe and productive work environments.  Develop facility audit plans.
  • Responsible for company-wide risk management programs including loss prevention, security and emergency response programs
  • Develop, maintain and adhere to loss prevention and safety budgets
  • Chair Safety Committee meetings and provide periodic updates to leadership team
  • Responsible for all reporting requirements and maintenance of legal documents.
  • Oversee claims management process and build/maintain relationships with third party vendors such as claims adjusters, insurance brokers, insurance carriers, etc
  • Implement and maintain shortage control programs
  • Manage liability claims related to product, consumers, etc.
  • In conjunction with Facilities Management, ensure proper policies, procedures and preventative  measures are implemented and adhered to in order to ensure safe and secure work environments

 

EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE

  • Bachelor’s degree in Occupational Safety, Environmental, Health Services or related degree strongly preferred
  • Certified Safety Professional (CSP) a plus
  • Loss Prevention Qualified (LPQ) or Loss Prevention Certified (LPC) a plus

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES

The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skills, and/or abilities required to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions.

  • 5+ years industrial environmental and safety and loss prevention management experience in manufacturing and retail industries.  International EH&S and LP experience a plus.
  • Working knowledge of federal and state laws governing health, safety and environmental matters such as DOT, EPA, and OSHA.  Knowledge of multiple state laws and regulations strongly preferred.
  • Knowledge of employment laws such as FMLA, ADAAA, Pregnancy Leave Act, etc.
  • Experience developing and executing EH&S and Loss Prevention training programs
  • Worker’s Compensation and risk management experience
  • Exposure to Continuous Improvement Programs a plus
  • Strong PC skills utilizing Microsoft Office applications to generate metrics and query information for reporting purposes
  • Confidential and dependable
