Environmental, Health & Safety (EHS) Manager

The EHS Manager plans, develops, organizes, coordinates and administers the safety and occupational health program of personnel, materials, equipment and environments resulting in a reduction of incidents and associated costs, while maintaining the efficiency of the organization.   Focusing with a people first mentality, this role serves as specialist in safety by developing and carrying out procedures that effectively control occupational injuries and illness in the organization while minimizing, if not eliminating regulatory compliance liabilities.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Manage the STOP/BBS Program
  • Facilitate and Track OSHA Compliance Training and Associated Documentation
  • Facilitate and Manage the Site Safety Committee Program
  • Prepare and Distribute Weekly Safety Metrics
  • Facilitate, Lead and Report on Safety Inspection Process for the Entire Operation
  • Ensure Annual Compliance Activities are Performed and Documented Associated to, but not limited to:
    • Confined Space Entry Program
    •  LO/TO Program Review
    • Emergency Preparedness and Response
    • Blood borne Pathogen Program
    • Hearing Conservation
    • Personal Protective Equipment/Respirator Fit Testing
    • Others

 Required Experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Safety, Risk Control, Industrial Hygiene or related field
  • 3+ years’ experience with Behavioral Based Safety
  • Knowledge and understanding of safety regulatory requirements and best practices
  • Ability to read, understand and effectively communicate information through writing and speaking so others will understand
  • Ability to lead, offer ideas and direction, teach and coach others
  • Strong problem resolution skills and the ability to effectively respond to questions, concerns and complaints from department leaders, internal customers and coworkers
  • Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts and draw valid conclusions
  • Attention to detail
  • Multi-tasking and organizational skills
  • Independent Self-Starter/Team Payer
  • Computer Skills-Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint, Access, Internet
  • Mathematical Skills:  Logical/Analytical, Percentages, Fractions, Moderate Algebra
  • Communication Skills-Advanced English: speaking, writing and reading
