Provides industrial hygiene and safety consultative service to large and complex clients in order to assist clients’ in the control of occupational safety exposures that have or may lead to losses from injuries, illnesses, or environmental compliance exposures. Meet the needs of larger, complex sold service customers as defined through service instructions and local contacts, including more complex and technically demanding exposures, risks and controls. Ergonomics and environmental skills would be a big plus. Anticipate 40-50% travel domestic and potential for international travel on occasion.


  • Provide advanced industrial hygiene and safety support to resolve complex issues with the support as needed of a more experienced HSE professional (Principal or Practice Leader).
  • Provide technical support to evaluate and interpret the impact of industrial hygiene related rules and regulations promulgated by the Occupational Safety and Health Administration, relevant national and international standards and local jurisdictions.
  • Determines adequacy of occupational safety hazard controls in operations/processes through interview, onsite observation, losses/incident report review, audits of existing safety and health programs, analysis of policy, programs or procedures and through evaluation and comparison to existing applicable standards or by developing standards where none exist.
  • Conduct safety and industrial hygiene field assessments for related topics at client facilities.
  • Write reports summarizing the data and findings of your field assessments, and submit for quality review within 30 days of the last day of the field assessment (if on the site multiple days).
  • Maintain the assigned sampling instruments, assure that the annual re-calibration occurs before the last expiration date.
  • Maintain high ethical standards commensurate with our profession. Maintain absolute client confidentiality and respect all privacy issues.
  • Able to use technology to provide state-of-the-art risk assessment and control methods to clients. Assists clients on implementation of interventions through informational consultation.
  • Act as a strategic partner with Account Managers/Client Executives, HSE Consultants in territory, and regional Chubb/ESIS operations. Under direction of Practice Leader – Industrial Hygiene and Safety, works with the partners in development of business plans and goals, providing occupational safety services to identify, evaluate and control occupational safety exposures for clients facilities within the assigned territory or in other areas as requested or needed.


  • Bachelors degree in occupational safety, industrial hygiene, environmental science, safety and health related sciences, engineering, engineering technology, or equivalent.
  • Must have an applicable professional certification - Certified Safety Professional (CSP) and/or Certified Industrial Hygienist (CIH) certifications preferred. Minimum of seven year’s work experience desirable in Industrial Hygiene/Occupational Safety (10+ years preferred).
  • Must possess a thorough knowledge of occupational safety and health principles and techniques. Excellent working knowledge of occupational safety risks/exposures required.
  • Must have a good working knowledge relating to a wide variety of industrial operations and processes and the potential they present for occupational safety exposures/risks.
  • Extensive and commanding knowledge of applicable occupational safety standards, guidelines and regulations/codes relating to loss control for various hazards, industries, substances and operations.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills are essential. Training ability and experience necessary.
  • Must have a commanding ability to recognize and identify occupational hazards, evaluate risks/exposures and controls in place or needed, and develop a strategy to sell top management on risk improvement.
  • Proficiency with most recent versions of Windows, MS Word, Excel and PowerPoint computer skills is preferred.
  • Speak and write in English (fluent); Spanish fluency is desirable
  • Background in machine guarding, electrical safety, lock out/tag out, incident investigation, ergonomics, vibration, and auditing.
  • Experience in industrial hygiene subject matter areas such as: welding fumes, confined space, noise, hazard communication, chemical hygiene, vibration, EMF, and ventilation.
  • Ability to evaluate, interpret, and recommend actions/solutions for problems of limited complexity. You will have help/support from a profoundly knowledgeable group of professional experts in the US.
  • Sufficient verbal and written communication skills necessary to effectively collaborate in a team environment and present and explain moderately complex technical information to all levels of personnel and management.
  • Effective organizational skills necessary to handle multiple tasks in demanding, often new, environments with tight and changing schedules while providing high-level customer service and good follow-through.
