Division Safety and Health Manager

Georgia-Pacific is looking for a Division Safety and Health Manager for our Gypsum Division in Atlanta, GA. This role will provide Safety and Health leadership and strategic direction to the Gypsum Division while leading the development and implementation of sustainable Safety and Health management systems focusing on the identification, elimination and management of critical hazards and risks; and human and organizational performance.   

Georgia-Pacific (GP) is among the world's leading manufacturers of bath tissue, paper towels, napkins, tableware, paper-based packaging, office papers, cellulose, specialty fibers, nonwoven fabrics, building products and related chemicals. A Day In The Life Typically Includes:
* Providing leadership and direction to achieve the Safety & Health vision through management commitment and employee ownership
* Facilitating Safety & Health ownership by the manufacturing organization through integration of the Safety & Health Management System and Strategy
* Coaching and guides division and facility safety leaders in the implementation of their safety management systems
* Leading the development of risk assessment methods/systems for anticipating, identifying and evaluating hazards
* Leading the development of division short and long-term Safety & Health objectives, targets, strategies, and measures that prioritize as well as mitigate risks
* Ensuring the development, improvement, and implementation of training systems to meet division needs, utilizing qualified instructors
* Ensuring development and implementation of systems and processes to sustain and improve performance organizational performance
* Utilizing development plans to manage and grow safety talent
* Communicating the Safety & Health vision and performance to internal and external stakeholders
* Facilitating overall program ownership by the manufacturing organization
* Managing the selection and development of key division safety personnel
* Aligning division plans with overall business unit and company safety initiatives
* Travel up to 50%

 

What You Will Need:

Basic Qualifications:
* Bachelor’s degree or higher in safety, engineering or related field
* Ten (10) years or more Safety & Health experience
* Experience in implementing OSHA and other legal/regulatory requirements
* Demonstrated ability to drive change and measurable improvement in Health and Safety using established safety management systems and strategies.
* Demonstrated ability to lead and influence teams and individual employees
* Multiple-site industrial and/or manufacturing experience

 

What Will Put You Ahead?

Preferred Qualifications:
* CSP or CIH
* Working knowledge of industry management systems
