Corporate Safety Director

COMPANY
The Hiller Companies, Inc. is a national company in business for 100 years.  Services include the design, supply, installation, commissioning and maintenance of systems in the commercial and marine markets.  The company continues to grow and is seeking a strong, passionate, safety professional to lead the company in pursuing safety excellence. 

Corporate Safety Director

POSITION

  • Report to the corporate office. 
  • Direct the development, implement & maintain safety initiatives, training and programs for all locations. 
  • Awareness of Quality Assurance and how it relates to safety within the company.
  • Knowledge and enforce OSHA, MSHA, and ISO standards
  • Identify key data collection items for analytics
  • Manage Safety Documentation to include training certifications.
  • Develop and maintain relationships with safety personnel for each location, customers and safety organizations.
  • Understand and keep current with federal, state and local compliance regulations.
  • Oversee ISNetworld, PEC Premier and Browze databases.
  • Maintain and update safety, fleet and substance abuse programs on an on-going basis.
  • Perform accident investigations and recommend corrective action; Root Cause Analysis
  • Perform site audits for all locations and provide a report with corrective action to local management and home office.
  • Assist with new proposal and contractor audits in supplying required information to obtain customer approval.
  • Train-the-Trainer and follow through for STOP.
  • Knowledge of NFPA is a plus. 
  • Travel will be required.
  • Must be located in the Mobile, AL vicinity. 

 

EXPERIENCE AND SKILLS

  • Corporate level leadership experience is required.
  • Proven experience in improving safety culture and reaching milestones within one organization.
  • Ability to speak and present at the Corporate level is desired.  
  • Multi-state experience as a Corporate Safety Director is a plus.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Safety, Industrial Health or equivalent technical experience.
  • Basic safety and health training.
  • 10+ years’ experience in marine and construction safety.
  • Offshore safety is a plus.
  • Experience in conducting safety training.
  • Good communication and inter-personal skills
  • Skilled with computer applications and office programs.

REQUIREMENTS

  • Must be a US citizen or permanent resident (Green Card).
  • Must be able to travel to project sites including overnight trips when required.
