Construction Site Safety Manager

We are currently seeking a EHS Safety Professional. The ideal candidate will be responsible for evaluating the safety protocols on a single job site. They must also have experience in the construction industry (particularly commercial phaemceutical) and understand the specific safety issues inherent to construction sites.

Position Responsibilities : 

  • Will interface with project management at all levels to provide EHS technical/tactical support.
  • Knowledgeable of the Company Safety and Health Program
  • Assist in the completion and maintenance of the Accident Prevention Plan
  • Participate in the 6 Step Quality/Safety Process
  • Assist in the development and review of AHAs (refer to Section SH B06.01) of the Safety and Health Manual).
  • Will perform audits of the site, provide coaching in needed areas to the craft personnel, identify areas for improvement and ensure that they are driven to closure. This is includes active participation in the leading indicator programs associated with both safety and environmental.
  • Assist in OSHA inspections, as necessary.
  • Assist with accident and/or near miss investigations
  • Assist in monitoring of subcontractor safety performance.
  • Audit project safety point files
  • Assist the Project Superintendent in the implementation of the Safety Management Tool (Form SH B03.01).
  • Attend awareness and competent person level courses.
     

Minimum Requirements & Expectations : 

  • Education/ Experience
  • 2 or 4 year degree in a related field (Occupational Health & Safety, etc)
  • Construction Safety & Health Technician
  • 2 Years documented EHS Management experience with similar construction project
  • Computer literate with Microsoft Office such that training programs, documents, spreadsheets and presentations can be generated
  • Capable of instructing regulatory and proprietary training as typically needed on a large industrial construction site
  • Ability to interface with construction personnel in the field to include management
  • Extremely knowledgably with Time management and problem solving skills.
