Total Productive Maintenance EHS Pillar Leader

NOTE:
This position requires 75% travel within the US and Canada

Position Summary: 
Serves as the EHS Market Pillar Lead for Company Continuous Excellence  (CE)  – including training, facility/operations EHS staff support/coaching/feedback/assessing development and implementation of EHS Pillar and associated EHS components of CE foundational elements including Leadership Development, Goal Alignment and Compliance Pillars.  The successful candidate will “own”, and drive, the program to impact throughout the entire organization.  Emphasis is more to the safety side of experience in the EHS arena.

Duties and Responsibilities:
Key responsibilities include but are not limited to:

  • Monitor the EHS strategy, plans and objectives in the factories/facilities in accordance with the Company CE, TPM, Six Sigma, and Lean Methodologies.
  • Work very closely with the EHS Director to ensure proper alignment and application of Company CE Methodologies in the factories.
  • Coach and develop the EHS knowledge and capability with all employees (beyond the EHS function)
  • Encourage continuous improvement, networking and sharing information within the EHS community such that it becomes a key pillar of the Company CE and EHS culture.
  • Serves as an EHS Pillar Lead for Company CE – including training, facility/operations EHS staff support/coaching/feedback/assessing development and implementation of EHS Pillar and associated EHS components of CE foundational elements including Leadership Development, Goal Alignment and Compliance Pillars.
  • Evaluates current progress on EHS within all aspects of Company CE, driving the implementation of Best Practices related to systems, processes methods, organization, staffing, and employee capability levels.
  • Monitor and Report factory implementation status to business, EHS Director, and Pillar Leaders
  • Deploy training and communicate TPM / Company CE strategies to facility personnel and others as needed
  • Must be able to travel up to 75% within the US and Canada.

Education and experience required:

  • Bachelor of Science in Safety, Health and Environmental or a scientific discipline, such as engineering, chemistry, bio/life sciences
  • Hands-on experience leading and driving TPM EHS Pillar, at multiple locations, is required.
  • 5+ years minimum leading multi-site EHS initiatives within a complex organization's industrial manufacturing environment
  • Continuous Improvement
  • Analytical skills in problem solving including DMAIC
  • Six Sigma certification highly preferred
  • Knowledge and interpretive ability of state and federal environmental and safety regulations
  • Strong communications, strategic, training, and motivational management skills.
  • Strong negotiation and influencing skills
  • Ability to communicate complex regulatory and technical issues in lay terms
  • Ability to perform under pressure and in ambiguous situations.
  • Ability to act in several roles depending upon the situation -facilitator, leader, executor, etc.
