Job Description:
FDRsafety is seeking a temporary SSHO to work on-site full-time in Texarkana, Texas, starting April 24, 2017 for 4-6 weeks. 

Must have a 4-year college degree, at least 5 years of experience on environmental construction sites / hazardous waste investigation or remediation sites, OSHA 1910.120 HAZWOPER training, 30-hour OSHA training, and must be a Certified Safety Professional (CSP) or Certified Industrial Hygienist (CIH).  Site work involves repairs to landfill leachate systems / piping, and may include:

  • Excavation into landfill waste for remote repair of landfill piping.
  • Fall protection to depths up to 40 feet below grade.
  • Lock-out / tag-out to replace electric pumps and transducers in sumps.
  • Use of Level C (includes air-purifying respirators).
  • Performing real-time air monitoring for volatile organic compounds, hydrogen sulfide, ammonia, carbon dioxide, oxygen levels, combustible gases, and monitoring site workers for heat stress.

Education, Experience, and Certifications Required:

  • Minimum 4-year college degree required, Minimum 5 years of experience on environmental construction sites / hazardous waste investigation or remediation sites required.
  • Must be a Certified Safety Professional (CSP) or a Certified Industrial Hygienist (CIH).
  • Must have 30-hour OSHA Construction Industry or General Industry S&H training.
  • Must have 40-hr OSHA 29 CFR 1910.120 Hazardous Waste Operations Worker Training (HAZWOPER) training, Current (within 1 year) 8-hour HAZWOPER refresher training.
  • 8-hour HAZWOPER supervisory training a plus, current first aid / CPR training a plus.
  • Must be currently participating in a HAZWOPER medical surveillance program or able to pass a HAZWOPER medical examination.  A negative drug screen will also be required.
