JOB DESCRIPTION: 

  • We are seeking a safety engineer for a global manufacturer in the residential and commercial construction industry that is growing and has unlimited opportunity.  They are very people oriented and have great incentives.
  • This safety engineer provides expert leadership in developing, implementing, and monitoring programs that drive year-over-year improvements in safety and ergonomics.
  • Involved in the design, development and delivery of training, policies/programs, best practices, project management and leadership improvement skills.
  • Assists in conducting audits and provides health, safety and ergonomic (HSE) recommendations accordingly.
  • Develops new and creative methods to drive continuous improvement of HSE practices. Assists with ensuring compliance with HSE regulations, and keeps abreast of any changes to laws and regulations that impact the organization.
  • Manages emergency response process for corporate campus.
  • Typically provides work direction to HSE professionals and serves as an expert resource.

REQUIREMENTS: 

  • Requires a bachelor’s degree in HSE, engineering, or equivalent and at least 8 years relevant experience.
  • Certified Safety Professional (CSP) preferred.
  • Expert knowledge of health, safety, and ergonomic, best practices and risk reduction (LOTO, machine safeguarding, PIT and pedestrian risks).
  • Exceptional presentation skills to employees at all levels of an organization.
  • Strong knowledge of developing and implementing training programs.  Must have proven success in developing training materials, auditing skills, and driving continuous improvement in HSE.
  • Highly proficient in using safety and ergonomic risk assessment tools.
  • Experience managing content of web-based databases and analysis of data.
  • Experience using Root Cause Analysis (RCA), Failure Mode and Effects Analysis (FMEA), or similar problem solving tools.  Lean and Six Sigma preferred.
  • Travel = Domestic and international travel at 30-40%
