Project Manager (Environmental)

Manage Total Waste Management (TWM)/environmental waste contracts at various locations. Adhere to company and contractual requirements and ensure comprehensive regulatory compliance.


  • Assist customer with waste characterization, shipping, profiling and document preparation for drum/bulk waste streams.
  • Proactively work with customers to establish reuse, reduction, recycling and alternate treatment options and develop and implement subsequent programs.
  • Provide timely data and reporting to customers in a manner consistent with contract/purchase order specifications.
  • Offer general guidance for Resource Conservation Recovery Act (RCRA), Department of Transportation (DOT), Toxic Substance Control Act (TSCA) and other applicable local, state, and federal regulatory bodies.
  • Coordinate use of US Ecology’s and 3rd party services; Monitor all sub-contractor services for completeness or deficiencies.


  • Bachelor’s degree in environmental or related field, 5+ years’ experience in the environmental industry
  • Excellent customer service, communication, negotiation and problem solving skills.
  • CHMM preferred.


  • To perform the duties of this job, the employee must have good interpersonal skills; be patient and tactful; display an enthusiastic, cooperative and friendly attitude at all times with managers/supervisors, co-workers, visitors, customers and clients.


  • To perform the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to sit, and use a PC.
  • Uses hands to touch, or feel; reach with hands and arms; and talk or hear.
  • The employee is occasionally required to stand, walk, stoop, kneel, and lift and/or move up to 25 pounds for movement waste containers.
  • Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, and ability to adjust focus.
  • Candidates may be required to wear a respirator if necessary.
  • Visits to operation sites should not represent different physical demands.


  •  The work is typically performed in a manufacturing setting and or office environment.
  • In the course of advising or counseling managers, supervisors, and employees, the individual may encounter aggressive or unpredicted behavior.
