Safety Consultant

(Part-time, flexible on location)

The big picture:
You will help save lives, reduce serious injuries, and improve the culture of each client you touch by facilitating organizational change programs that drive safety performance improvement at client sites. 

The day to day: 

  • Evaluate organizational issues, advise client organization leadership, and implement safety culture change initiatives using DEKRA Insight's proprietary methods
  • Conduct workshops and presentations for groups large and small, across all levels of an organization
  • Provide coaching to senior, mid-level, and front-line leaders in client organizations


Manage client projects, with a focus on:

  • Achieving high levels of client excellence;
  • Demonstrating results to internal and external stakeholders;
  • Completing engagements on-time and on-budget;
  • Coordinating work with other consultants
  • Identify new business opportunities within client organizations and work to support new business generation
     

 What you need to have: 

  • Ability to identify problems, apply critical thinking, and research potential solutions
  • High degree of professionalism and skill in verbal and written communications
  • Ability to develop strong and genuine client relationships; high personal credibility with all organizational levels
  • Ability to work both independently and collaboratively as a team player
  • Strong experience with organizational initiatives in safety, quality methods or other organizational change process
  • Experience with operations in petroleum, manufacturing, utilities, and/or transportation industries
  • Excellent facilitation, training and presentation skills
  • Experience managing large, complex programs
  • Understanding of cross-cultural differences
  • Background in Industrial Safety or Hygiene preferred
  • Minimum 10-years’ experience working in industry or government
  • Master’s degree preferred, bachelor’s degree or equivalent work experience required
     

 Physical demands: 

  • Approximately 90% of work requires travel to client locations
