Occupational Health (Nurse) Manager

Aerojet Rocketdyne plays a key role in providing propulsion solutions that defend our homeland and support the space industry’s communication, observation and exploration needs. We are seeking an Occupational Health Manager. This position can be located at our facility in Canoga Park (Southern California), Camden (Arkansas) or Culpeper (Virginia).

In this role, you will be responsible for planning, organizing, coordinating and leading the activities within Occupational Health group, as well as providing consultation and technical direction.

Typical duties:

  • Delegates assignments to direct report managers and supervisors and advises direct reports in the resolution of operational problems based on specific goals, company policy and meeting established schedules; provides guidance and direction to site health clinics related to case management, goal setting and implementation.
  • Oversees programs such as the company electronic employee medical record system, medical surveillance program and other health services programs for all health clinics; corporate substance abuse testing program; Workers Compensation case management, ADA/Reasonable Accommodation, OSHA, Medical emergency response, and wellness/ health prevention and education programs; Chair or participate in the corporate-wide health or medical program.
  • Interprets multiple state, and federal legislations, directing the regulation of Health Services procedures and practices that are affected by such legislations; ensures health services activities are in compliance with state, federal, customer and company requirements, regulations, and policies.
  • Develops short and long-range plans and implements approved plans.
  • Reviews overall budget schedules and performance standards.

Requires

  • Bachelor's degree in an appropriate discipline and nine (9) years of progressively responsible experience in a directly related field, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Demonstrated supervisory skills, including the ability to plan, organize, coordinate, direct and control the activities of the assigned organization.
  • Possession of a current, valid Registered Nurse license.
  • Certification in first aid and AED/CPR.
  • Certification as an Occupational Health Nurse, or in a position to pass the test upon appointment to position.
  • Demonstrated work experience in Workers’ Compensation laws and regulations
  • Valid Driver’s license.
  • US Citizenship Only Required. Dual Citizenship does not meet job qualifications.
