The Medical Services Clinician (MSC) provides occupational health clinician case management in a non-clinical setting for Norfolk Southern and Conrail new hires and employees. Relies on extensive occupational health experience and judgment to make decisions on a daily basis that impact the health and safety of new hire, employees in safety critical positions and potentially the general public. A high level of independence, and critical assessment and decision making skills, similar to those of a senior level clinician in an occupational health setting are required. The MSC must demonstrate and maintain current knowledge of the standards of occupational health clinician practice, applicable Federal regulations and guidelines and Medical Department policies, procedures and guidelines.
Job Related Experience:
Minimum 5 years of experience as Occupational Health Nurse, Physician Assistant, or Nurse Practitioner with occupational health experience, and/or a minimum of 3-5 years of Case Management (or comparable experience)
Preferred Level: BSN, MSN or PA-C.
Licenses / Certifications:
Required: Licensed (or ability to be) in the state of Virginia
Preferred: BSN or MSN with COHN-S or PA-C.
