Global Health & Safety Leader

Are you a Global Health and Safety Leader who seeks new and exciting opportunities in Denver, CO? We are hiring a Global Health and Safety Leader to join our team. In this role, you will work collaboratively with and provide centralized oversight to the JM Health and Safety Management team to assist in the design, implementation and maintenance of world-class health and safety management programs and practices and coordination of strategies, goals and tactical objectives among all JM business units.

As the Global Health and Safety Leader, you will ensure compliance with company, local and federal H&S regulations corporate wide. The Global Health and Safety Leader reports directly to the Senior Director of EH&S and has direct responsibility for the product stewardship and industrial hygiene functions as well as oversight and coordination of the Division Health and Safety Managers and the Occupational Health Manager. 

Responsibilities: 

  • Establishes and coordinates the overall company philosophy, policies and organizational priorities for Health, Safety, and Product Stewardship.
  • Ensures activities of the organization are carried out and are consistent with company, local, state, federal and international laws, regulations, requirements and adopted voluntary standards.
  • Ensures systems are in place to address and monitor compliance on a regular basis.
  • Coordinates the development and implementation of standard programs and procedures, including updates, throughout the company.
  • Manages and drives JM's Safety Culture Program, including leading the team and overseeing the assessment and implementation process.
  • Accomplishes results through senior executives, peers and subordinates.
  • Performs management functions requiring planning, evaluating, organizing, integrating, communicating, and coaching.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: 

  • Bachelor's degree
  • 15 or more years of experience in operations or health and safety
  • 7 or more years of experience working in a manufacturing environment.
  • Experience managing projects and processes within a manufacturing environment
  • Leadership skills which have positively impacted health and safety performance including meeting regulatory standards
  • Knowledge of regulatory standards related to health and safety (both domestic and international)
  • Ability to execute with strong planning and organizational skills
  • Ability to work with all levels of the organization and influence stakeholders without direct line of reporting, including coaching and mentoring direct and indirect reports
  • Ability to travel up to 50% (international and domestic)
  • Ability to support after hour calls

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS: 

  • Experience with global health and safety programs
  • Ability to work with respective outside regulatory agencies (OSHA, State level, offices of EPA related to product issues, China, ECHA and other EU and member state levels).
  • Operational experience
  • Industrial Hygiene experience
  • Product Stewardship experience
  • Fluency in German and/or Slovak a plus
