Environmental Lead Project Manager

JOB SUMMARY:
Project Manager or Resource Manager to administer Total Waste Management (TWM) contracts at customer facility. Adhere to company and contractual requirements and ensure comprehensive regulatory compliance.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Perform onsite service work including, but not limited to, regulatory inspections, participation in plant committees, waste characterization, shipping, profiling and document preparation for drum/bulk waste streams.
  • Proactively work with customers to establish reuse, reduction, recycling and alternate treatment options and develop and implement subsequent programs.
  • Provide timely  data and reporting to customers in a manner consistent with contract/purchase order specifications.
  • Offer general guidance for Resource Conservation Recovery Act (RCRA), Department of  Transportation (DOT), Toxic Substance Control Act (TSCA) and other applicable local, state, and federal regulatory bodies.
  • Coordinate use of USE and 3rd party services; Monitor all sub-contractor services for completeness or deficiencies.
  • Manage the contract per the current cost budget and seek out internal/external cost savings.


EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:

  • Bachelor’s degree in environmental or technical field
  • Proficient in labeling, marking, manifesting and all required shipping paperwork.

SKILLS, KNOWLEDGE, AND ABILITIES (SKA):
To perform the duties of this job, the employee must have good interpersonal skills; be patient and tactful; display an enthusiastic, cooperative and friendly attitude at all times with managers/supervisors, co-workers, visitors, customers and clients.

CERTIFICATIONS, LICENSES, AND REGISTRATIONS: CHMM Certification required

PHYSICAL DEMANDS:

  • While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand, walk, stoop, kneel, and lift and/or move up to 50 pounds for movement of supplies or containers.
  • The work can take place indoors and outdoors and the employee may experience cold and hot climates.
  • The employee is required to wear Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) and be medically fit to wear a respirator, as necessary.
  • The employee is also required to sit, and use a PC. Uses hands to touch, or feel; reach with hands and arms; and talk or hear.
  • Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, and ability to adjust focus.
  • Visits to operation sites should not represent different physical demands.

  • The work is typically performed in a manufacturing setting and or office environment.
  • In the course of advising or counseling managers, supervisors, and employees, the individual may encounter aggressive or unpredicted behavior.
